It feels like two different standards are being applied here. Regarding the amazing evil done by atheists in the last 100 years your point, if I understand it correctly, is this:
Not everyone who claims atheism or is associated with atheism is actually an atheist in the true sense of the term. Therefore we cannot hold atheism responsible for everything done by those who claim atheism.
But if this is argument is valid, wouldn't it also apply like this:
Not everyone who claims Christ or is associated with Christianity is actually a Christian in the true sense of the term. Therefore we cannot hold Christianity responsible for everything done by those who claim Christ.
The wheat and the tares grow up together.
Absolutely Alan. I think what I am trying to say is that religious people seem to do these large group outings more consistently. But, we have veered off topic quite badly. That's my fault for feeling the need to "defend" myself. I'll go sit in the corner now!
